Which guitar strings are easiest on the fingers?
I had a classical nylon string guitar which weren’t too bad on my fingers (I play a lot of classical/bossa nova which requires lots of finger picking) But recently I got a new acoustic steel string guitar (I know an acoustic guitar isn’t actually made for playing the type of music I want to play). The steel strings are litterally cutting into my fingers b/c i play atleast 2 hrs per day. I can’t put nylon strings on the acoustic guitar can I? Should I get thicker or lighter strings? would that be more comfortable? I also heard of “silk and steel” strings, which are easier on the hands too. What would you guys suggest? thanks!
You will get used to it and your fingers will develop calluses and then they won’t hurt as bad. However, flat wound strings are a little easier on your fingers than other kinds.
