Basic Piano Lessons
All great piano players started out as beginners, and the beginner stage in a pianist’s life is the most important stage. Learning how to play the keyboard, a very nice versatile instrument, is not as easy as learning how to play a sport. It is a confusing instrument but very fulfilling once mastered. Here are lessons that may help you in learning it easily:
1. First lesson is learning how to play notes using your right hand.
Learning how to play piano requires exercise using both hands, so we take it one step at a time by using only the right hand first. To exercise your right hand is also to familiarize yourself completely with the instrument.
Remember that your fingers has there corresponding numbering such as the thumb is number one, the index finger as the two, the middle finger three, the ring finger four and the little finger as five. Review the sequence in your mind to aid you in learning it more quickly and to prepare you for more advanced lessons. Bear in mind also, that your hands will not be hitting the same notes when playing a song, so it is really important that you first practice one hand at a time.
2. Next is practicing the left hand.
The process is also the same as to the right hands, only much harder because you may have gotten used to using the right hand only. It is vital that you practice playing both hands individually before you can achieve coordination later on.
3. Next is learning how to play the keyboard in both hands.
Now that you have finished practicing both hands separately, we will now try to play using both hands. It is to be assumed that since you have finished with steps one and two that you can already identify the notes on the keyboard.
Now when playing the keyboard, try to keep your eyes on the notes that you are playing and not on your hands because it will only distract you as you play. Play not looking at the keyboard keys and your hand, and try to select the keys which are right for the note. Do these exercises more often to be able to synchronize both of your hands to play.
4. Now that we have learned playing with both hands, it is now time to play a song.
Select a song that has easy notes and only uses your left hand for support notes while your right hand does acrobats on the keyboard.
Master that song by playing it again and again. Once you play it perfectly, choose another song with a higher level of difficulty and begin again the process until you are thoroughly used to playing with both hands.
Learning how to play the keyboard takes a lot of time and effort. Constant practice and dedication is needed to learn this instrument. Anybody with the persistence and patience to study this instrument can excel at it. It might take a lot of time but the result could mean added confidence and a sense of fulfillment.
