Rio 2016 Olympics

If you’re planning to attend the Rio 2016 Olympics, you are in for a real treat. Besides watching some incredible games throughout the Olympic event, you are going to be treated to one of the most beautiful cities that South America has to offer.

Never mind the site seeing, which you can read about elsewhere. The beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro has so much more to do and see that you may never want to leave. You can listen to live Bossa Nova at the Butiquim Carioca in Botafogo, or at Severina in Laranjeiras. Then, you can get a glass of fresh juice at at one of many convenient corner juice stands which have cropped up over the past few years in this South American paradise.

You could try more traditional American drinks, but how about considering some of the more unusual things, like Caja, caju, graviola, acai, fruta do conde or mango juice, to name just a few. Then again, if you’re really in the mood for it, fresh squeezed orange juice is just an order away as well.

At night you could go for a drink at Vermelha, next to the Sugar Loaf. But before that, try a steak and meat feast at Rio Porcao in Flamengo. It’s one of the most amazing experiences you’ll ever have. Or you could sample the delectable seafood Rodizio in Mariu’s in Leme.

Feel like dancing? Do it the Brazilian way, by learning the Samba and partying the night away in a way that only Rio will let you do.
You can also take a boat ride to Niteroi where you can see some of the amazing views of Rio Di Janeiro and you’ll truly understand why the Rio 2016 Olympics are being held in this paradise. There is also the Museum of Contemporary Art in that town which will give you a break from the non stop party.

If people watching is your thing, check out Uruguay at Ipanema where you can have a delicious steak sandwich and then admire the gorgeous bodies of all the people in the street (this is South America after-all).
If you’re into soccer, there may be a game going at Marcana stadium where you can see why the Brazilians are so crazy about the World Cup and European football.
Also, while you’re in town for the Rio 2016 Olympics, check out the sunrise at Arpoador and then head out for a run or even a bike ride around Lagoa.
