Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton’s home state is Tennessee. Dolly came from a large family of twelve children. Her career began at the age of nine. She was singing at the Grand Olde Opry when she was only thirteen.

 Which country music star was a sergeant in the US Air Force?
John R. Cash
Jonny Cash was actually named J.R. The Air Force required that Jonny have a name and not just initials so he selected the name of John. When he signed with Sun Records he changed his stage name to Jonny Cash.

Which country music icon stars in the film Flicka?
Tim McGraw
Tim has received many awards for his music including the People’s Choice Award for favourite male artist. He has also been featured in the films, Friday Night Lights and Four Christmases. In 1996 Tim married country music star Faith Hill

Which country music celebrity was once a member of the group The First Edition?
Kenny Rogers
In 1976 Kenny left the band to go solo. His first label as a solo artist was United Artists. He has charted more than 70 hit singles.

Merle Haggard was born in Bakersfield California in 1937. Merle was sent to San Quentin at the age of 20 for robbing a tavern.

George Strait
The media has dubbed him as the King of Country. George’s first single was called Unwound. George has charted a recording breaking 57 number one hits on the music charts.

Which country music star in 2006 was picked up for possession of drugs?
Willie Nelson
On April 30th 1933 Willie was born in Texas. The guitar that Willie plays, which he calls Trigger has developed a large hole. Willie has stated that when Trigger becomes unplayable he will retire.

In US sales who is second to the Beatles?
Garth Brooks
Garth officially retired in 2001. But he has since changed his mind and began a partial come back in 2005.

Toby Keith
In 1993, Toby Keith recorded his first single. Toby’s first album was entitled Toby Keith.

Faith Hill
In 1967 on September 21st Faith Hill was born. Faith’s actual name is Audrey Faith Perry. Her first album was released in 1993 and was entitled Take Me As I Am.
