I was very young when I first heard the music that made me want to learn guitar.The Beatles, Clapton and Segovia were the people that inspired me most.

The guitar cast a  mysterious spell over me and I was forever consumed by my desire to play.My days and nights were filled with learning guitar.

My friends and records were my first teachers.Online learning was non-existent as was the internet. Today you have so much information available to you it is incredible . Sometimes, however when you have so much knowledge it is easy to stray off course from your initial objective.It can be difficult but you need a course of action, a plan, a system of learning to play guitar.

Nothing against teachers, but there is no need at first to pay big money to have someone show you something simple like how to string a guitar or how to strum with a pick. If you want to study at 2 a.m. with your online course you can do that. Not too many teachers would appreciate a call at 2 in the morning. The videos that are used these days are top notch and are a valuable tool for learning.

 

I was very motivated when I started out and I taught myself a great deal. This may or not be the case with you. Happily there is another alternative these days and you are lucky to be able to take advantage of it. It is inevitable that you will look for books on your own I know. When you do I recommend folk guitar books as they have all of the basic strums with very familiar songs.

The teacher can be a crucial part of your growth in any part of music, learning how to sing or guitar lessons or learning piano. Teachers come in all shapes and sizes,  so to speak, so it can be hard to find the right one for you.  If your teacher is a jazz player, he might not be the right one to show you delta blues,  although he certainly would be the one to teach you to improvise. You can burn through a lot of money going to different teachers, so it can be a blessing to have an online program as you learn the basics and beyond.

To learn guitar is difficult at first, to be sure. The guitar is unlike piano in the respect that it is not easy to see the chord positions; the guitar has many different positions for the same chord. With the unclear visual aspect and the complicated right and left hand methods as well as tab and tunings, it can easily be too much for the beginner, causing them to give up.

I would say you are very luck indeed to live today and I hope you find your way in your quest to learn guitar.
