Learn Piano Chords
Learning piano chords and scales is an essential part of learning to play the piano. If you give them extra attention to learning and memorizing piano chords it could accelerate your learning very quickly. Each piece of music is consisted of these chords, learning to play the chords could help you play a piece of piano music in no time.
Once you have mastered the chords you will be able to play a much wider variety of music. As your repertoire of piano chords increases the difficulty of the song will increase. For instance, you can play the same song at varying levels of difficulty without rendering the song beyond recognition. With very few chords you can play a simple song, with a few more chords you can play the same song with more style and finesse.
So, ‘how do I learn piano chords’, I hear you cry. Well, I am pleased to report you can do so very easily. There are two stages to mastering piano chords for songs and just about anything else for that matter and they are….
● Effective Learning. In order to learn piano chords you will need some instructional material. Fortunately, today there is a huge amount which can help you learn how to play piano and will show you the piano chords. You have two options when it comes to finding the material for you. This will certainly come down to what your learning style is so take a moment to think about how you like to learn. Do you prefer to read the theory or do you like someone to demonstrate? These are the kinds of questions you need to ask yourself. You can find a lot of piano tutorials on the Internet which will show you how to play easy piano chords. Alternatively, you can go to your local music store and pick up an instructional book for learning piano. Whichever option you go for, make sure you pick reputable, trustworthy resources for your learning.
● Memorization. There is no point in you going through all the effort of learning something if you will forget it straight away. How do you do that? Well, the answer is simple, you must practice, practice, practice. Even more important that is how often you practice. If you want to learn a certain piano chord you will need to practice it the next day, then the following week and two weeks after that. You get the picture. By just doing something once you are making it very difficult for yourself to remember it. What people don’t seem to know is that cramming just doesn’t work. If you don’t go back to it a few times, you will forget it! But even then you must keep practicing for it to pass into your long-term memory. If you learn something and wait a month before practicing again you will have surely remembered none of it. Consistency and frequency are key!
