There are some great reverb plug-ins but unfortunately for us it’s the reverb ones that are the biggest RAM memory hogs on computer based recording programs. Considering reverb is one of the best and most useful tools for a recording studio it’s not surprising a quality plug-in would do this.

Thinking about a Lexicon mx200 for an effects processor upgrade is a good idea. We know how much memory the virtual reverb plug-ins can spunge up so by integrating a Lexicon MX200 you free up that valuable RAM for other things. Yes the Lexicon has a USB port so it functions as a hardware plug-in.

Something nice about having the instant and touchable access on the piece of hardware as opposed to the virtual plug in. For live performances this would be even much more necessary.

Quality effects and reverb processors have become synonymous with the Lexicon name. For us home recorders on a tight budget that’s good cause the Lexicon MX200 affords us the ability to get quality reverb at home. This Lexicon model goes for under two hundred bucks.

Lexicon’s sound is rich, smooth and more complex than most reverb plug-ins and having the ability to use it as a stand alone reverb unit and treat it as a hardware plug-in is a special bonus. At 24-bit, 48kHz sample rate It’s 32 reverbs, delays, effects, and dbx dynamics are high quality.

This model is a single rack space and has a very intuitive interface that is not only friendly enough for your home recording studio set up but for live applications as well, with it’s illuminated LED on the front panel. And of course one of it’s very best features, being able to have 2 different effects going at the same time thanks to the dual processors.
