Street Music As A Tradition
Street Music, hip hop and rap, isn`t only a kind of music, it`s a culture. It`s a lifestyle full of original elements, and it`s also a place where individuals can display others what they got and who they may be. Within this original society called hip hop, there are basically four main elements of MC, Break, Tag, and DJ. MC-ing is what individuals know as rapping. The main point of an MC is to make your crowd enjoy your music, and to send a message out to them. Unlike most of the lyrics out on the market today, Rap contains meaning and it sends a message to the people listening. Perhaps that’s the reason the youth are drawn to it, they are able to relate to the words of the song.
Rap has been put into a bad light by the press. It is not really right to blame crimes and violence to rap. Every individual is accountable for his own actions. Music really should not be held accountable for violent crimes. Think back to other events that involve youth and violence. If the news could link it to rap in even the most remote possibility, they would. Contrary to the stereotypical images often connected with rap music such as sex, drugs, violence and money, there are performers who contribute lyrically in a positive manner. Their songs have musical content that promotes pride and social-consciousness. Rap music supplied a generation with another means of creative expression. It can be considered as urban story-telling and allows youth to tell stories in another way, so that they may be heard.
Rap music isn’t a fad which is going to go away like disco. Many people adore the world that rappers portray and they love good music regardless of what the lyrics are saying. Everybody desires to achieve the bling bling, fancy cars with spinners and 20” rims, and big homes that rappers often rap about. Also rap also causes a lot of trends, like the rise in popularity of Air Force One’s produced by Nike, throwback jerseys, 20” rims, platinum teeth, diamond earrings, and the list can go on and on. Hip hop is well-known because it is very versatile and isn’t just in one category, also it is a part of the hip-hop culture and a lot of folks live their life that way.
Rap is a huge subject on its own right. Connecting to its fashion counterpart would mean speaking a little about its history, its meaning and how the clothes actually fit man and his soul. Naturally, with such an amazing and colourful background like that, Hip Hop’s fashion and style certainly tell of a deeper story, an expression of inner style and one’s identity and what he or she represents.
Street music’s influence is all over the place: fashion, dance, art work, television and specifically other forms of music. Street Hip Hop fashion involves oversized chains and watches. These are seen street music artists were the first to don huge, extravagant chains in their music videos and live shows. Grandiose hoop earrings have become cool again as well as large-faced watches.
