The Beatles in 2010: Remastered Vinyl Records

Tags: , , , , ,

Quite a few music lovers feel that vinyl is the best way to listen to music. There’s some kind of magic to seeing the black circle rotate and knowing that the wonderful sound you’re listening to is coming from the needle rather than a series of 1s and 0s.

It is this “magic feeling” (to quote Paul McCartney) that has Beatles fiends extremely excited about the strong possibility of The Beatles 2009 remasters making their way to vinyl LPs in 2010. Although as of this moment no release date has been set, it’s believed that Apple Corps. is working on a vinyl release of The Beatles remastered stereo albums.

The Beatles LPs that are available now were made using the 1987 remasters so these 2010 vinyl LPs should be as improved in sound quality as the new discs are in comparison to the 1987 compact discs.

I am going to be ordering The Beatles Remastered Vinyl Box Set as soon as it is available to order (as I’m sure it’ll sell out fast) even though I’ve already purchased all of these 2009 remasters on CD (and on The Beatles USB.)

According to everything that I have read, the remastered Beatles vinyl will be sold both individually and as a part of a box set (just like The Beatles remastered stereo CDs.) The rumored release date is 3/16/2010 but there is a good chance that won’t end up as the final date.

While you’re waiting for the vinyl LPs I strongly recommend that you buy The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set and The Beatles Remastered Mono Box Set. They both sound great. I personally end up listening to stereo mixes more often (as I just prefer listening to music mixed in stereo more than music mixed in mono, in general) but that being said, the mono mixes are very interesting to hear too.
